Hi all!
I have tried Bonsai (before DG) and have killed them all! grrr!
DH wanted his own lil bonsai garden so for V-day I bought him several Bonsai's
Ca Coast Live Oak
Baggesens Gold
Azelea Brick Red
Heart Ivy
Box Honeysuckle
they are all currently in 2" pots about 3 to 6" tall. I know nothing about how to keep them trained, wether they need sun or shade...etc.
Is there a good book I can buy that has all the basics?
I'd like to put them all in one container, but know nothing about soil conditions, which containers are best...etc, etc....
please help! LOL!
New to Bonsai please help!
Hi AnjL, if you love gardening, use your gardening talent and apply to caring for 'container plants' to bonsai. i.e. researching specific type of plant such as azalea, and learn of their individual culture and then provide them the sun/shade, indoor/outdoor condition that matches to each plant's cultural requirement. ect...
If you enjoy learning more about bonsai's technique. I have this book that I really enjoy reading, and learning more about the art of bonsai. I hope that will help answer some of your questions.
does that book go into how to trim and keep them from growning too big? thats really what i need to know, and soil conditions etc....
Well, I went to the book store today and all they had in stock was the Bonsai Survival Manual by Colin Lewis....
that was their ONLY Bonsai book, so I bought it.
much to my dismay they had about 40 books on how to grow mj, but only one Bonsai! think its time for me to find another book store! lol!
does anyone else have this book? it seems kinda informative....
off to start reading! lol!
