May I ask - do all Butia YATAY seeds have sharp elongated tips/ends? How does one say Butia Yatay seeds from Butia Capitata seeds?

I received supposedly 100 Butia Yatay seeds, but very few are elongated, while many are round or quite round. How do I know they are Butia yatay seeds?

Hello NorthSC
Sorry my late reply

B yatay is generally elongated seeds. Can be slightly rounded but always tip. B capitata spherical seeds always much smaller than Yatay

Look the pics; different forms of B yatay fruits will have seeds with different forms

These are my actual Butia yatay seeds that I received:

Is Butia yatay hardy to Zone 8A (-12C) or is it less hardy as other sources say only to zone 9B = 23F (which is about -5C)?

Thanks.
