Went to the show and got a ???

I just went to the most boring chicken show i have ever been to and thats not a joke.
There was only bantams and no large breeds and or ducks and there wasn't anyone hardly there but the show folks.
I have to say i was very disappointed and didn't even take pics of any of the chickens.
Did finally get to see the porcelains a guy told me he had looked like a self blue with white hackle and saddle feathers *sigh*
The guy was sort of arrogant and wouldn't buy my pigeons for $15 each gave me $10 for one and then wanted to sell me the crele hen in the pic for $15 *sigh* Gave him the male pigeon and $5 and walked away *sigh* But that was after he told me i had no idea how to breed a porcelain hhhmmmm seems i have some and he don't.

Here's my Quail oegb they are really pretty got them from a nice breeder (not mr grump).
He explained to me about the checking on his chest that it was hard to breed that pattern i got there early and was the first to buy them.
When i picked them up to leave he told me he wished he had more cause everybody wanted to buy them

Here was the buy of the day and made up for mr arrogant. and his actions.
I was getting ready to leave and when i got to the parking lot a noticed some more people had come down to the right.
All the others were on the left when i had went in so i start walking that way and as i got closer i thought no it can't be!!

I stopped at a pen of Brassy Backs and the lady said $50 for the trio *no Thanks* they were the wrong color and appeared to have mites.
Turned and walked towards the direction of a small cage and a man sitting on his tail gate and i could swear it was PIGEONS!! SMALL PIGEONS!! My heart began to race was this day of disappointment going to become better??
I got closer and YES it was Pigeons!! Tiny little Figurita Pigeons The giddy child in me was thrilled But!! But !! there was a man looking at them NO!!
I sat down the cage with my unsold white fantails and looked at the man and said are those Valencia Figuritas I was trembling inside. He said Yes it's 2 mated pairs and this gentleman is thinking of getting them..... MY Mind was Screaming NO!!!.......But my face was just a smile and asking him about them and talking about how cute they were.
Then my mind screamed Shutup!! Stupid your talking him into buying them with all this positive talk.
I waited for what seemed like forever "sweating bullets" and he finally said he didn't really need them because he didn't have a place to put them. My brain was jumping around on the inside of my head and every nerve was standing at attention.
The man walked away and i ask how much he wanted for them $15 a pair i knew i could only get one pair. I needed to buy feed and other things so i guess i could settle on a pair.
Then i saw the 2 fantails eyeballing me and it hit me maybe mr arrogant. could help me out on this after all. I found him and said how about i sell you these for $20 and he said well i just don't know and then rubbing his head said okay.
I said thank you and i needed the cage to buy some pigeons down there he said ""Pigeons down there!!"" Where!!
What kind are they!! I said Valencia Figurita's and he said How many doe's he have and i said I'm buying all he has.
He walked with me down there and looked at them and said you got a good deal on those wish i had of seen them.
I was thinking "Yea" I'm glad you didn't.
So i gave him my $30 and he gave me his card such a dear man he was he said "don't hesitate to call me if you got a question or a problem" He is going to sell me some Chinese Owls this spring "What a Nice Man"
That really made my Day just standing there talking to him and watching mr arrogant walking away in a snit.

Heres the other pair and he said with me breeding the white female to the colored male i could get yellow ones.

He also said they had just raised some babys and they would be laying again real soon and so would the other pair.

I just love them and the nice man and his pigeons really made my day ^_^

This is a closeup of the male these pigeons are the size of Doves they are so tiny and just look at their tiny itty bitty pink feet.

Beautiful birds. I thought of you when I went to the market last week. Took this pic for you. Didn't ask the price as I wasn't really interested in buying any.

These were all in one cage. Do you have this kind?

Cajun i don't have those kind they look like some type of tumbler or homer and thanks for the pic.
Those are very young pigeons they still have their large baby beaks i hope they weren't to young to sell the size of their beak says they are squeakers.

Oh Harm, you did great. Very pretty birds there. And to top it if you got Mr arrogant in end. Great to have the contact to get more from come spring from the nice older gentleman. I have watched you and your birds and have been thinking about getting into them, I do have the 5 doves and they are a bit noisy in the house after it warms up a bit they will have their own pen out side.

WOW Harm. Sorry the show was a bust. Looks like you made the best of it though!!!!! hehehe

I was at the market in Paintsville.

Paintsville is already started? I will have to check it out. Was there a good show of people/animals?

I encourage everyone to try a pair of pigeons they are really alot of fun to own and just like chickens come in all sizes and colors LOL

Paintsville hasn't stopped all winter! There have been a few die hards every week. Just a couple of weeks nobody showed up because of the weather! There were a good amount of animals last week. I don't go really often but I have a nice time when I do. I love to see all the baby animals in the Spring. They have tons of chicks, ducks, bunnies ect. Right now they have more game fowl than they do the rest of the year. And they don't have as many hunting dogs right now either. Folks are running them now and I guess the ones they don't like they will sell later. They don't usually have goats at the market on Saturday because they have a regular goat sale. They also have a cattle sale and a horse sale. We go to the horse sale at least twice a month. They also sell tack there. We have rescued a few horses at the sale. They are getting in a bit of produce at the market but not the quality they will have a bit later.

These laying hens were at the market last time I was there. The same man who had the pigeons, had them. He was asking $10 each or $9 each if you took all 4. What is the going price at other markets?

(jumping up and down, throwing a fit) I want some pigeons! And dang it--I forgot about the show! Harm--doesn't sound like the show was much to see--but there were PIGEONS there for sale! Dang, dang, dang!!!!

And I had a spot in the Chicks in the City class tomorrow night hosted by Walter Reeves at Oakhurst Gardens--and I can't go due to WORK!! I may just work myself up into a right good apoplectic fit!

Oh Goodness PlantRn sorry you missed the show but you didn't miss much it was really boring.

Pigeons well i had 3 fantails sold them to someone and he had some mixed something or others they weren't pretty.
The man i got my Quail from had some beautiful homers but they don't make good cage pets.
John the one i got my Figurita's from only had the 2 pair i bought (sorry)

But Good News theres going to be a swap meet at the same place in march. Oh dang i can't remember the day it's 20 something i will ask DH and get back on that.
But there will be all sorts of Chickens,Pigeons and I hope DUCKS! and who knows what else For Sale!! or Trade!! soon as i get the date i will Dmail you.
