Lourdes....here is the H. linearis you sent me last Nov.....I haven't killed it!!!! YET!!!
Actually, I am thrilled with how it is growing! I never water it .... when it is dry I set it in a bowl of water with 1/2 strength MSU fertilizer and let it suck up the water from the bottom. It is hanging high in my greenhouse where it gets very bright light.
So far so good!!!! I have killed so many I am thrilled with this plant from you. Thanks....
WOW Carol, it looks beautiful and has grown so much!!!! I'm so glad is doing well for you, and it is a little token of appreciation for all you've done for us ( Alex and me)
My is doing well but has not grow that much, I guess being indoors makes a difference.
Here it is, sorry so dark I'm taking the picture with the light in front of me, it is in a window facing east.
Great growth - I bet you get flowers this year!!!!
I really hope so!!!!
I was thinking...Carol, with your thread about root growth on H Imperialis...with no explanation as to how 2 cuts from the same plant grew so differently and threw our such different quantities of roots......could this just be the same for the plants we so often have and discuss problems with....like the Hoya linearis' of this world, for example......just luck and what you get and nothing to do with how you grow them?
Is it possible that the H. linearis get too heavy? I have problems with my String of Beads plant that grows kind of the same way as a linearis...when they get to a certain length they die back...like the circulation gets cut off where they grow over the edge of the pot.
Very good point!!!! What length is your max - ?
My String of Beads shows signs of stress at roughly 14 inches. Sometimes less depending on how heavy the "beads" are. Mistletoe cactus (latin evades me right now) shows signs of stress at 24 inches.
