Lakeside, I could take a guess at the ID, but I am far too new at this to do so. I'll bow to the experts here and see how well my guess matches them. However, I just have to comment that those are the whitest legs I have ever seen. :( Beautiful EE though.

It looks to be Alocasia borneo giant. I believe a lot of these were donated a few years ago by a good friend. Their are a few other odd alocasias growing at fairchild. One is by the food court which I have called Zebrina Mac. It has stripes down the stems. Their is also another larger Alocasia on the far right side near the Jade vine path. I am not sure just yet what it is. I have only seen it from a distance a few times.

This plant is the one that I call the Big Mac, which is probably a seedling variant of Alocasia macrorrhizos 'Borneo Giant'. The bloom morphology is nearly identical in both plants and the main differences, at least in my specimens, is that the Borneo Giant has more rippling on the leaf blade, the leaf blade is rounder overall, and the Borneo Giant produces more suckers. I've set seed on both plants, but the Big Mac is less receptive to pollen from other Alocasias than the Borneo Giant is. I've done crosses on both plants using the same pollen; the Borneo Giant set seed while the Big Mac did not.

The Alocasia on the Jade Vine path is also a Big Mac, and the "zebrina mac" by the food court is one of the many variants of Alocasia macrorrhizos; it is very similar to the one I used as one of the parents to my Alocasia x novodora.

Thank you both. I thought it might be a BG but wasn't sure.
Krowten, we call those legs "Wisconsin White" lol. But it's just the photo and the lousy camera- they aren't really that white!

I would have guessed Borneo Giant myself - glad to see that bwilliams and LariAnn's efforts are teaching me(us?) how to ID these things are finally having some limited success. Lakeside, glad it was the camera as they looked a bit scary, even for WI.
