What food would you like to try?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I saw this poll awhile ago on my diet site sparkpeople.com and was wondering....

What food have you never had but would like to try?

One guy had said "watermelon" of course everyone else was shocked this guy had never had watermelon before, I mean sometimes that's my breakfast in the summer.

Mine is escargot. Yes I know they are snails but......I'm pretty adventurous.

Conch.

They say it tastes like clams and fried like calamari(which I love)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yuck to both! Can't say there is anything I've wanted to try but have not.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

anything ethnic . . . my husband comes from a British background and there is only so much pot roast, yorkshire puddings and mushy veggies I want to eat in one lifetime.

North Augusta, ON

I could eat Yorkshire pudding at every meal!!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

When we were at a restaurant in Whitby, England, they served our 11 year old daughter a yorkshire pudding the size of a LARGE dinner plate - filled with chips (aka French fries) and gravy! We were so astounded we took pictures!

North Augusta, ON

mmmmmmmmmmm...two of my favourite foods in one place, I'd of been in heaven!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

More yuck!

Frog legs.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Live grubs.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

My brothers use to steal my frogs and eat fried frog legs. They swear it taste just like chicken!!! I was never very happy or willing to try them.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

The guy on Man vs. Wild seems to love them.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Nutritious and delicious..just like chicken! ^_^

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

He ate a frog raw one time. He pointed out that the first bite (at the neck) had to kill it or you would feel it squirming all the way down. Yummy!!!!!!!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Well maybe not yummy sitting at home in front of the TV....but a elegant meal if your lost out in the wilderness.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I agree.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Roasted witchey grub from Australia....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Crikey!

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

actually, I'd rather have pheasant....

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

::::shaking head:::::

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

I am a fan of all mentioned above, except the grubs. Not so wanting to even think about trying those. Yuck! I do want to love or even like sweet breads and other offal, but can't quite get there yet. Sea urchin and sea cucumber are other things that I would like to try without wanting to puke. Not there yet either. My chef son eats all those things, but will pass on a slice of raw onion. Go figure. Not sure he has eaten grubs or a raw frog. Patti

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Sea urchin (raw) is absolutely delicious! Haven't ever tried sea slug - that I know of anyway.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

frog legs do taste like chicken, yummy.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Frog legs taste like chicken that has eaten fish food all it's life....

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Ok Victor - I'd really really like to try EVERY flavor of cheesecake on the Cheesecake Factory menu.
I'd have to get a personal trainer to go with that order though.....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Oh I would not mind that either! I didn't think of desserts.

South Hamilton, MA

Roast beef & yorkshire pudding is our christmas menu. I have a British receipe for Y. pudding.

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

Like to try Thai food . I could eat Chinese food everyday (and have) but never have gotten around to Thai.

Kershaw, SC(Zone 8b)

I've never had Yorkshire pudding...so I guess there's one.
I've never tried a fruitcake...although I've seen them often enough.
When I was in the Navy and traveling all over the place I think I tried every ethnicity that is out there's dish(es). I think I have. I've eaten everything from an African rice dish made by someone I worked with (the rice and spices were imported from Liberia) to little meat rolls from the Philipines (I believe they are called Lumpia).
Hmmm...Yorkshire pudding...what's it all about?

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

David_Paul - New Haven has at least one good Thai restaurant.
