So Excited!

I just finished filling out an order form to Dave's Violets.I started small, only 8 plants.I know he won't ship until around May1st,but I coudn't wait to at least feel like I was dipping my toes in again...LOL. I know a couple of you are saving leaves for me until it gets warmer and I keep watching the Marketplace, but the itch has really started again.^_^. By summer or maybe a little later,I hope to have something to trade (which is why I have not posted a want list). The other reason is right now I want everything...!!When you are all ready to start shipping to colder areas I am definitely looking with wide open eyes..

Lynn;
What plants are you looking for? You know you can usually send strep leaves in the mail without a heat pac if the weather is above 40 or so.so let us know what you are lookling for.

Don't forget, too, there is a Bingo prize of $20.00 certificate for Dave's, too. You may get lucky and pick the right number!

One of everything sounds good to me! Don't know why you have a problem with that! ha.

Actually I think you are doing pretty good. I've been to Daves site a few times and I just can't narrow my list down to what I can affort to pay, ha.

So far I ordered 2 standard AV,2 Episcia and 4 Sinningia.A friend is starting Alissa and a couple more Streps. for me and another is saving some mosaic AV leaves for me.
I am pretty much interested in all Gessies, but probably need to concentrate on smaller growers until I add more shelving.
If you have something extra, please Dmail me and we can work out the details.
Thanks to all,Lynn. ^_^

I should add I'm new at this and not quite sure of how it's done.Right now I don't have any Gessies to trade, but I will have later.I am happy to accept plants or leaves and will gladly reimburse postage or purchase them.I would love to have wish lists from any of you also.
Nothing can probably be shipped here until March or so when it warms up.

Thanks,Lynn.

Hi Lynn,I'll go though my stack bags and make a list of the extra stuff I have tommorow .I know I have a baby chirita Aiko extra. Was it you looking for that one?

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Hi Jan,
Yes it was.I love, love, love yellow blooms on any Gessie I did order Episcia Suomi.(Did I spell that right?).I'm also partial to orange, red, and very deep colors. Also, dark or variegated foliage. Here I go again. Some of the Steps and Sinns,.that are part white and have other colors are amazing.I guess there isn't too much I don't like, although no offense to anyone,I'm a little less fond of heavily spooned leaves and wasp flowers, although some are very pretty.
I'm getting more excited every day!! Oh No.....That's really bad for an ex addict like me.I guess Gessie Rehab didn't take LOL ^_^.

Lynn-I am so glad to hear I'm not the only frustrated blonde in the group. I've ordered from Drew's [4 leaves] and Selective Gardener [5 leaves]. I just love starting from scratch on a plant as much as possible although I draw the line at trying seeds.I have a binder with all of my plant stuff: tips, mixes, vendors and photos of each variety. I have 23 AVs [standard] 1 China Doll which I've nearly killed a couple of times, and 1 miniature ivy. I've got to try an episcia as soon as I can order it. I have never been an outside gardener. For one thing we don't have enough growing season here-zone 6. We'll probably have snow until May! We have before. There's a big garage behind me and the snow falls off of it all winter. I have 3-6 feet of snow in my back yard until April or May. It doesn't get much sun. We are definitely nurturers Lynn. :-)

Hi mortswife ^_^,
'LOL...We are in the middle of a snowstorm today.I really can't do much outside until mid-May,sometimes June, because it won't stop raining.I do grow some outdoor flowers, but it is so much more rewarding to have plants to care for all year.I think all Gessie people are nurturers at heart....smile.
I used to grow from seed, but I'm not sure I want to do that this time.I have my old journals, too, but not really any pictures.I didn't have a camera back then.I am really looking forward to jumping back in.A lot of people here have leaves for sale or trade,so you should be able to get plenty of plants.I don't have any yet,but I will be glad to help you out in the future.

Hi Lynn. I know your weather, DH and I pastored in Grand Island 2 years one lifetime ago [1975]. We have snow here in my hometown but it was brutal there. I'll keep you in mind for plants-thank you. Cheryl

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Yes,the poor people in western Nebraska are getting 2-3 inches of snow per hour right now.BRRR. Glad to meet you Cheryl.
