I've never seen it before and am not sure if it's a juvenile. It came back to the walnut tree for a couple of weeks in a row in January, landed in almost the same spot each time and pecked the bark for food. It has a soft call and is shy. I tried to sneak outside for a picture and it flew away.

Thank you all! My birdbooks just didn't seem to show a little one. As I said, I've never had one before and he is a handsome one right now. (I'm assuming male :o)
