CLOSED: Ring neck or scaup?

Fox Island, WA(Zone 8b)

Could these be ring necked ducks, or scaups (greater or lesser) ?? All seen at Brazos bend park.

For sure this first one is a male ring necked, right?

The two black ducks in the background are probably ring necked, right? But about the rusty colored one - female ring necked, female scaup, something else?

These look a little more like scaups to me. Immature male in the middle (or maybe a female) and 2 females on the sides

I know you can't tell what the one closest to the camera is.... but what about the one toward the back with the cinnamon coloring?

The ones in the background are probably gadwalls, but what is the cinnamon one?

And after looking at all these horrible pictures, here's a picture with a message from the cat to tell you all "thanks for ID'ing my favorite creatures. I like to know their names before I try to hunt them down. Yummy".

## 1, 2, 3 are all Ring-necked Ducks, note the strongly peaked head and the white band on the bill.

## 4 (rear) and 5 (front) are Pied-billed Grebe; note the 'tail-less' appearance (and yep, Gadwall behind in #5).

Grebe oh wow I hadn't even thought of that. Cool, both are lifers for me!
