Salmon Faverolle Male? Female?

Newton, AL

I have a Salmon Faverolle that is colored like a male, but looks like a female. Does anyone a have any idea on this one? Is it both? AHHHHHHHH!

I have the same problem. I had only one chick out of ten that looked like a female...but now she looks just like yours. The males had more black on their wings and bodies and grey heads. I am wondering if they are Mahogany rather than Salmon Faverolle pullets? It is another recognized color.

AHHHH, Mahogany! I never heard of that color. I got them all from Stombergs hatchery and all the rest look like a Salmon Faverolle is supposted to, but then there is this one. Hum. Mahogany. Interesting. Thanks.

I do not know that breed, but that one has definate female looks. The light color in comb and everything.

Salmon Favorelle males don't look like that; they're more black and white with a ruff. I'll bet Catscan is right and you got a Mahogany, or some sort of throwback to an ancestor of the standard Salmon.
