My apologies if this has been asked before but it there a "right" time to start brug seeds - please and thank you for any help with this.
Seed starting - Zone 7
Well.. the fresher seeds start somewhat better..
I'd say 4-5 months before you'd like to see flowers ..perhaps..
Planting on the full moon is an old addage I believe.. form the new moon to the full moon is best...something to do with increaced water.. being drawn up into the plant.. thus
Till the soil on the new moon
I wouldn't wait till March 11th if I was you though...
O Also the stronger para magnetic influences.. occour on the full moon... O
Any day with a "Y" in it's name.. is good...
Planting right after Sex is another old saying..
You're likely not sowing outside right now.. so most anytime you can care for them through the first few months.. with plenty of light .. you should have some day long sun or strong light somewhere.. mine start under grow lights...
I usually start mine sometime around Vallenttines day.. or a week or two before.. that way I might have been lucky.. and they won't have gotten too .. inside big.. before going out to be in a lightly shaded ..... cool early spring.. softer light spot to start with..
what's your delay there Chantell
I always liked to start them in late October if I could or as early as possible after that. I'm a bit colder here tho and can't get the seedlings outside until May.
ROTFLOL - mercy...that was good!! Don't know why in the recess of my mind (scary place, I tell you) I remembered someone saying something about NOT starting them "too early" - but never clarified what "too early" meant??? I think NOW'S a good time!!! I'll shove em' in pots and put them on the plant rack - positioned directly by the south facing windows...that oughta be enough light eh?
Brugie - Oct? Sheesh...guess I'm a tad late eh?
No, not late. You have a bit longer growing season than I do, so you should be able to get blooms the first summer if you can get them going now. Have fun. Once you grow brug seeds, you will be really hooked.
Ya'll have been great - thank you so much!!
