Early morning stroll.........

This 'Great Blue Heron' was going about his early morning stroll (and breakfast).

And then his curiosity showed in this awkward position!!

Good morning, Pam, and thanks for the photo. It's makes for a beautiful start to my day. The only times that I have seen herons are at the two bird refuges near our home.

It's about 8:00Am when these were just taken. It is 38 degrees and the wind is around 25 to 30mph with higher occaisional gusts. I looked out and saw this guy hanging out on the dock. I usually walk down there after work many days and stand and gaze out just like that. The similarities struck me, I guess, so I grabbed the camera.

And then a big gust caught his attention.....

Whoooooaaaaa....

That long ol' beard was just a blowing.....

And this was just before he decided he'd had enough for today!
Then he left.
