Went out today in SE Texas..............

Sugar Land, TX

A friend of mine that I have known since I was 3 (52 years ago) told me the other day that his father was was into bird photography. I contacted him and he took me on a run through Brazoria Wildlife Refuge, Brian Beach, and San Bernard Wildlife Refuge and we had a big day of it. I took a large number of shots and it was a great day. Here's a few of the many birds I photographed.

Last one is a Royal Tern (Forster's has a black bill, and no crest).

Very nice pics Chris! I love the Belted Kingfisher,

Hope to see more pics from your trip soon.

Nice picture of the kingfisher. We have them here, but can't get too close. I love it when they catch a fish. There is quite the production they go through to get it ready to eat.

Love that Kingfisher photo and I know how hard it is to spot a Bittern. That Tern is really an interesting subject. Great job on all your pictures!

I was trying to catch a decent shot of the Snow Geese flying but was not having much luck. Then the whole lake got up at one time! It was quite a sight, 1000s of geese flying very low, right over us. Lots of fun.

Those are wonderful shots! I have a friend who would be so jealous of that last one. We've been driving all over looking for them!
