How was your day....128 ????

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

Day is almost done..my car is in the carspital with no chances of getting her home until possibly tomorrow..while driving to aquafit this am, the 'service engine soon' light came on. Since I had no clue why, I called the dealership as soon as I got back home and they said to bring it in for diagnostics. Turns out a valve is sticking open and a seal is leaking. Luckily I have extended warranty coverage on it so I will just pay the deductible and that's it. Its unfortunate that these days everything you buy requires you also buy the extended warranty because things seem to fall apart as soon as the regular warranty is done. Things just aren't made as well as they used to be, I guess.

We have had out share of bad news here lately.....I really hope that trend will quit with this new thread.

I am going to start cutting potatoes tonight, getting them ready to plant this weekend. My garden will be small this year, I am tired of trying to grow many things with no success..this Texas weather is not garden friendly most of the time. Told DH if I have bad luck again this year, I am going to plant flowers only and when I want to get some produce (tomatoes) for canning, I will just go to the Asian store since their produce is so cheap. I love green tomato salsa but didnt have enough green tomatoes last fall, the Asian store was selling them for 49 cents a pound..they were mixed with partially ripe and ripe ones. Lazy way out, I know but a lot less frustrating. The potatoes I planted last year weren't worth a flip, either....but I waited too long to buy the seed ones and could only get a kind I was not familiar with. This year I bought them already and got the red ones that we like so much.

Mama-san peeking around the corner...
