A curious thing happened to this Philodendron "Rising Sun"(???) that i got on ebay some years ago from Brian (I think). The leaves which used to start out Yellow and then turn Green now remain yellow(ish) and have a camouflage type variegation. Anyone else have this type of spontaneous variegation and can you encourage it in any way..
ps...cold weather ......should you water ...or not?

Actually, I think that the yellow coloration is more a factor of how much light the plant receives.
Mine has never put out any green leaves, at all. It puts out the variegated-looking yellow leaves that seem to have surprised you. Its pretty old though, maybe 4 years? And very very large. The leaves are about 14-15" long because it has been allowed to climb up a totem from ground level to over 8 ft.

Glad to see it doing so well. I think the light factor is the main reason for the brighter leaves. In very bright light the leaves can become very bright yellow. This orginated out of a hybrid from kyoto Japan. A friend of mine working at a large botanical garden had it in his collection for years and it is much larger the others like Philo Painted lady it has similar colorations but over all a larger faster grower.
I got mine from an unknown ebay seller from some state like Ohio (just some lady selling cuttings) for $5. I also got a highly variegated Monstera from her for $12 and a Painted Lady for I think $7. This has been, like I said, maybe 4 years ago. I will see if I can get a photo.
