More verticle gardening stuff

I have built two raised platforms to mount vertical growing systems on. I have added another feature to the 4x4 square foot platforms.........bottom watering of container plants. I will cover the platform with plastic and create a water bed for one or two gallon containers to sit in. So I will be able to grow over 100 plants on the4x4 foot platforms. The original platform sitting on the ground at the end of the picture will be modified to look like and be the same height as the new ones. You can also see a smaller platform with a "stack and grow" vertical system sittin on it.

Another view........these three platforms will take up an area of 4x14 ft and be capable of growing over 400 plants at the same time. I can sit 50 one gallon pots on each platform when they are newly planted. After the plants grow to a certain size, I have to remove some of them to create space.

Jaywhacker: The ones you are putting on the tables buddy, where did you get them might I ask?

The ones Im planning on using in the middle of the platform are just standard one gallon nursery pots, Joy. Last year, I put some little stack-a-pots in the middle of a platform for a total of 36 plants. I think Bob is checking into becoming a stack-a-pot distributor. Now that you have jogged my memory though, I wonder how many little stack-a-pots I could stack in the middle of the platform. Lets see........stack them six deep with 3 plant sites per pot and that makes 18 plants per stack and I think I could get 4 stacks of stack-a-pots on there and that would give me 4X18=64 plus the 80 sites on the EZgro poles and that makes 144 plants per platform. Hmmmmmm!! Scuse me, I gotta go take some measurements.

Now you done done it, Joy. You got me stumbling around in the dark at night like Bob does!! Anyway here is a picture of four little stack-a-pot units sitting on the platform and showing that I would have plenty of room for four stacks of them and their literature says they can be stacked 8 deep so that would give me 96 plants in the stack-a-pots plus 80 in the EZgro's and thats 176 plants. HeHeHe! Aint that something. Lots of vegetables like radish, lettuce, toy bok choi, asian greens, etc can go from seed to market in about 45 days and dont take up much space while growing. Put one of these platforms in a green house where you could grow year round and you could probably churn out about 1000 plants for sale a year in a space of about 4X4 feet. Lets see........If'n I could sale them for a dollar each that would be................scuse me Joy........I gotta go do some more figgering!

Joy.......taint beige, it is grey.........go to www.stackandgrow.com and you can read all about it. Bob has one of those being sent to him to see if he wonts to become a dealer for them. I personally like the smaller stack-a-pots much better than the stackand grow. Waaaaaayyyyy down at the bottom of this thread.......http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/942548/.........I made some posts and pictures about the stack and grow you see in the picture. The stack-a-pot website is.........www.stackapot.com if you wont to look at those. Dont stay up all night.
