Don't know if anyone is planning on going, but this year is the one to see. I'll be going on Friday the 20th.

Northwest Flower & Garden Show
What do I get for paying $20? And yes, I'm serious. I have never gone - usually working or I've had scheduling problems. So, the entrance fee is to cover _____?
Do they feed me, too? LOL - just kidding.
Sorry Katye food is another $20.00 for a sandwich and drink. Best to bring your own.
Really, it's just access to the venue. From there, you can look through the vendors booths, at the display flower arrangements and gardens, and get access to speakers. Many of the gardens have plant lists that are free.
Lunch is spendy.
And, while you'll see everything from yard art to clothing, all very cool, the vendor stuff may cost a little more because you're there.
Let's see: take a vacation day, spend $20 to look at stuff/creations, elbow my way through crowds, pay more for something because it's there-not elsewhere, gas & parking, and leave the venue only to find myself still stuck in February.
I will rethink.
May i buy a vowel, please?
I go for the display gardens. Yes, they are totally unreasonable in the "real world" but in the middle of February in Western WA it fills that need for something colorful, beautiful and smelling of the freshly turned earth in my life! Yes, the parking is expensive, but it is Seattle. Food; simply put, take your own. You can purchase "early bird" tickets for $16 http://www.gardenshow.com/seattle/tickets/index.asp Every year (I have gone for the last 5, yes I am a sucker) I take tons of pictures and get many great ideas to carry me until Spring finally arrives. So that's my two cents :0)
I'm with Rachie. And since we come from across the pond, we park at my SIL's office on Bainbridge (free), walk on the ferry, and my brother picks us up and drops us off, so we don't suffer the parking fee. The display gardens are always amazing and it does set my planning gray matter whirling. They have lots of free seminars as well, though I don't go to those because I'm usually just wandering around the displays with my mouth hanging agape. For me it's a fun day in Seattle (we small town folks enjoy a trip to the big city and quite frankly, don't get over there very often) with my DH and SIL wandering amongst beautiful greenery and color and lots of garden stuff, which is a mental necessity after the long bleak, gray winter. And it's Wednesday thru Sunday, so no vacation day required.
So Rachie...when you going?
Wednesday and Thursday, I'm counting the days.........
Rach I'll look for you. I think my daughter and I will be going all day Thursday.
