Bath Time Fun

Marlton, NJ

I'm really enjoying the sight of different birds loving this new heated bird bath I got for Christmas.

I missed getting shots of a Mockingbird who had just been on it but the Robins are really enjoying it along with the Starlings and occasional Blue Jay.

You should have heard the Robin yell when this Starling came onboard.

GM you took the words right out of my mouth!

Pelle...really beautiful series. My gosh you are gonna have more birds now that the word is getting out!

Thanks guys! They were so active in the bird bath that day I had to go out and refill it 3 times.

Love your photos pelle, especially that arguing one. The Robins do make for colorful photos, but I love the Starlings for their colors too.

The birds that have discovered your warmed bath sure are fortunate.

I was reading somewhere recently that when the temps are below freezing, you need to keep the water shallow to discourage bathing.

Hi nanny, I believe that would be good advice. This is a shallow bath;in fact I almost wish it was a little deeper as I wouldn't have to refill so often when it's busy. There also is a high island in the middle that you can see the Starling standing on in this pic. I haven't seen any of them using it for bathing except during the warmer days.

I really like yours pelle...After reading that, I became concerned about my heated bowl. But I have not seen any brave bathers!

Those are wonderful pictures, pelletory! You are going to enter some photos in the Great Backyard Bird Count this year, I hope.
