Oh, they are stylin!!! (fox whistles from my roos) hehehe
I have three for my girls. They really are nice. ;)
Oh! my my....strut the runway a little! Very nice!
I have that same kitchen floor minus the chickens! I think I need chickens....So..
Pattern for the saddles? Are they for warmth? Do they behave in the kitchen?
hehe - so cute
I love your saddles.. how nice your girls look in them.
great sewing job..
Perfect saddles! Very cute!
Aren't them saddles so cute!!! Love the models too...LOL
No I did not make them and they are not house chickens, only in to get there saddles on and a picture.I bought the saddles from a lady on this forum I think her name is modene on here.Yes they are for warmth because the rooster tore all the feathers off their backs and also to protect them from him again,he is still looking for a good home.As soon as I can find a good home for him I will get a smaller rooster.
That is me making those saddles..LOL...
hehehe I like mine also!
Moodene, you've been holding out on us, hiding your creative skills!
Great job!!!
Hehehe, I have made over 300 chicken saddles since Dec 21, 2008..trying my luck now making chicken diapers..
What beautiful saddles! They look great on your girls!
I made a bunch of egg gathering aprons just like my grandma used. She would put her eggs in the big pockets..if she finds baby chicks without mommas..she would put them in there too..lol..will post a pic of the aprons soon..made few more but not quite finished yet...
YOU ARE SO CLEAVER MODENE,CAN`T WAIT TO SEE THE APRONS PROBABLY WILL HAVE TO HAVE ONE.YESTERDAY I WENT OUT TO PUT THE CHICKENS IN THERE COOP FOR THE NIGHT AND THERE WAS A HAWK IN THERE AFTER TWO OF THE CHICKENS THE OTHERS WERE IN THE COOP HIDING IN A CORNER.I STARTED SREEMING FOR MY DH BUT HE HAD THE TV TO LOUD AND COULD NOT HERE ME SO IN THE HOUSE I RAN TO GET HIM AND MY SON,OUTSIDE HE CAME WITH HIS SLIPPERS ON (KNOW WHY THEY CALL THEM SLIPPERS NOW HE WAS SLIPPING ALL OVER THE PLACE)THE HAWK HAD ALREADY PULLED FEATHERS OUT OF THE GOLDEN GOMET AND ONE OF THE BLACK SEXLINKS.HE GOT IN THROUGH A SMALL HOLE IN THE NETTING ON TOP OF THE RUN,HE WAS TRYING TO EAT HER ALIVE.WE GOT RID OF THE HAWK AND GOT THE TWO THAT HE HAD ATTACKED AND PUT THEM BACK IN THE COOP AND MY DH EXAMINED EVERYONE AND THEY WERE OK JUST TERRIFIED.I GOT UP EARLY THIS MORNING THINKING ABOUT THEM AND WENT OUT EXPECTING SOMEONE MIGHT BE DEAD BUT THANK GOD THEY HAD LAYED THERE EGGS AND EVERYONE SEEMS FINE.I TOLD DH WE PROBABLY WOULD NOT GET EGGS BECAUSE THEY WERE SO STRESSED OUT,BUT SO FAR SO GOOD.I TOLD HIM PLANS ON NEW COOP AND RUN WILL HAVE A ROOF ON IT AND MADE A LOT STRONGER THEN WHAT WE HAVE NOW,I DON`T WANT TO SEE THAT AGAIN IT WAS HORRIBLE SEEING THEM IN THE CORNER LIKE THAT AND THE OTHER TWO SO TERRIFIED.THE ROOSTER TRIED TO PROTECT THEM BECAUSE I SEEN HIS FEATHERS OUTSIDE TO,WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR TO THE COOP THE PULLITS WERE ALL IN A CORNER UNDER THE NESTNG BOXES AND HE HAD HIS WINGS COVERING THEM AND HIS HEAD WAS IN THERE AS FAR AS IT WOULD GO,I DIDN`T THINK SO MANY CHICKENS COULD GET IN ONE CORNER BUT THEY WERE ON TOP OF ONE ANOTHER THEY WERE SO SCARED.THE TWO THAT THE HAWK TRIED TO GET DID NOT HAVE THE SADDLES ON BUT I BET IF THEY HAD THEM ON THE HAWK WOULD NOT HAVE GOT SO MANY FEATHERS OUT OF THEM.I BET THEY WON`T GOT OUTSIDE FOR A LONG TIME,ITS A GOOD THING I WENT OUT WHEN I DID OR HE WOULD HAVE KILLED ALL OF THEM PROBABLY.
Green - how awful for you and your birds! I hope you can get that roof fixed up soon. Poor little birdies are probably all traumatized, but it's great that they still laid eggs this morning. What a crazy hawk. Couldn't he find an easier target than going through netting? Sheesh!
ooohhh poor babies!!..Camoflouge them girls!! I got a camo fabric to hide them girls behind!!..LOL...I hope they are doing better as the days go by..My grandma used silver reflecting tape on her netting..by tying a bunch of strings up on the netting part to confuse the hawks..lol..when the sun hits the silver it is like a blast of light in the eyes..
good idea will put that on
