Hi all,
I have returned from the beach with all fingers and toes and have had a lovely birthday.
We first hit my favorite... Tillamook Cheese Factory and bought a large supply of curds. I had better get to eating them before they age into real cheese.
Then we went to the beach.... brrrrr.... it was cold when the wind blew, but it was actually not that bad. 48 degrees with winds between 5-7 miles per hour.
I got to hang out with my family all day -- build a sand castle with my three year old son; watch my 5 year old daughter fly a kite for the first time; and watch my 9 year old dog, who has terrible back problems, run around like he was a puppy again.
It was a fabulous day!

I cannot imagine going to the beach in 48 degree weather. Have I mentioned I hate cold weather?

I LOVE the Tillamook Factory. I hope you had some ice cream while you were there. When we go to the coast when we visit our son's family, we go over to Cannon Beach, by the big rock. Is it called Haystack Rock? I love the drive along the ocean. It is soooo much different than the east coast.

Happy belated birthday, Kristin! Your description makes me homesick for the Pacific Northwest! We've lived in NJ for many many years but still think of our time out there fondly. I'll bet your day was just gorgeous.
