Needs a new Home

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

I need to find a new home for a, 8' Ficus tree.
It has over growin the house. I got it 11 or 12 years ago, it was in a 6" pot.
It is very touchy about where it likes to be, or it will drop all its leaves to show its unhappy. It loves where its at, even though I forget to water it most all the time.

Let me know.

Tils, you could prune it back, root prune it and put it back in the same pot with new dirt. That way you could keep it.

I have done that to many times, I want to find a new home. My living room is to small and it got to big. LOL
It would love your house.

My neighbors gave me one a few years ago and I killed it. I'm trying to get rid of most of my houseplants.^_^

Pardon me for butting in - couldn't help but notice your 'tiels, tillysrat. You might not know that ficus trees are thought to be toxic to parrots. Looks like they have a nice spot in the house!

They have not touch that tree,They have been side by side with it for 5 years. One of them is 15 years old.
Thank you for your concern
Please take the tree, I need the room. LOL

Our 'tiel is 16. I just had to move a cymbidium orchid out of the house because he was 'tasting' it. As curious as they are, I'm amazed yours didn't touch your tree, but maybe they know somehow. I read recently that birds see bananas as blue , so maybe they see something specific in potentially toxic plants.

Sorry, been there, done that. How about Freecycle?

How about bringing the tree to the Roundup if you really want to get rid of it.
I had a similar ficus situation but I did repot it and did a major trimming and it was a better size and was nice and happy. I couldn't bear to part with it after so many years!

I want a good home for her, if nobody wants her I will do that again. But I can't go bigger on the pot, its as big as I can get. My house is just to small.

Thanks Kaper, I must have the most finicky birds there is. We get treats for them from the pet store, they won't touch it. But they do like to nibble on the Corn Plant.
