A puny vine with large fruit.

San Andres, Peten, Guatemala

We have gained access to a new area and discovered, amonst others, this puny vine with a very large fruit. Unfortunately we missed the flower.
A full set of leaves is in the next photo.

This vine is about 30 feet above the ground so the views are limited through a telephoto lens.
The leaves.

Kinda looks like a Dutchmans Pipe vine to me? Mine had a seed pod like that. Hopefully someone a little more knowledgable will come along ☺

Aristolocha gigantea or grandiflora (listed as growing here).
The leaves match. It has been impossible to find pictures of the fruit, even good descriptions. The flowers are so spectacular that everything else is forgotten.
I tried to grow these from imported seed without any success.
One brief reference said spongy cucumber like fruit. That could match.
Even the Guatemalan Flora is very brief and states that the capsule (seed case) is oblong 4 inches by 1 3/4 inches thick.

The vine is now fully visible so we will keep an eye on it. When the fruit ripens and falls we will grab it before the critters get to it (hopefully)
