Darned Aphids!

Oakland, MD

A few months back my mom traded for some mints for me. I brought them home, and couldnt figure out why they looked like they were dying! On closer inspection they had aphids on them...
So I then went to google, looking for a plant-safe aphid killing natural concoction.
It killed the leaves on all of my plants -_-;.
Thank goodness mints are hardy, and all but the peppermint & mountain mint have leaves shooting back up!
But now for the bad news... They STILL have aphids on them. Every day I've been waking up, and giving a thorough inspection, smashing any aphids I find with a pair of tweezers.
But I'm not sure this will get rid of them altogether?
Is there any safe natural way of killing them (indoors) without harming my plants?
I'm afraid to use poison on them, as I would like to make tea from the leaves eventually!!!
Thanks!
Ashley

Neem oil will work. It is safe, although very smelly. Also, a strong spray of water will remove them. Apparently, once they fall of they can't climb back up so they die.
