Another quick cold snap

Lexington, SC(Zone 8a)

Not as bad as before, but worth making note of in advance on Fri night / Sat morning.

one can hope can't we :)~ whenever they are supposed to be right they are usually wrong...let's hope so in this case...although I must admit playing hooky during last weeks snow was pleasant break with the kiddos to throw some snowballs...it's been a while since I've done that!

Lexington, SC(Zone 8a)

Every time I want them to be wrong, it seems like they never are. Figures, LOL

By the way, welcome back Deanna. :)

I hear ya Deb! I have been really good and learned some lessons from last year - I started my seeds too early and scrambled for room -this year I am going to do better LOL

In fact - my 10yr olds science fair project is right up our alley "How additional heat and light aide in germination" (gee guess who helped her with that one)

John - ty for the WB - i have seen the pics you posted of the yard - wow! is all I can say - please let me know when you are ready to sell LOL I'll move in and just live on the back patio the kids can have the house - it's beautiful - they need to do a spread on the house in Cola's living section - you've reallly created a haven of beauty....

You sure wouldn't think it's about to get cold again, it's over 70F outside right now. Still calling for 23F Sat morning, 25F Sun morning.

Thanks Deanna, I appreciate it. Hopefully all the 4 o'clocks you provided will start spreading this year too - they were great to have end of last year. Beautiful color.

Expecting 29 Friday and Sat. night here. Sigh.
But right now, mid 60s and rainy.

Lexington, SC(Zone 8a)

That front coming through this afternoon brought A LOT of fast rain and dropped the temp rather significantly.

Argh, now they are saying next Tues/Wed could be in the teens again - and possibly more snow.

Warm winter my foot NOAA.

Kure Beach, NC(Zone 9a)

We';re going to get to at least 30 here tonight and they say we may get snow on Tuesday. Anymore cold temps and I may be forced to clean the house or do other indoor chores. Eww! Want to be out in the dirt!

OK! That's it! I'm throwing in the trowel!! Upper 20s next two nights and then 2 nights in the lower 20s mid-week.

If it would just stay on the cold side, and everything could stay dormant, this wouldn't be so annoying. It's the up and down that's the problem. Stuff comes up, greens up, buds up, then...whammo! Arggg.

Alright,..sigh..got that off my chest.

Yeah it's a real pain. The nanners are putting out new green leaves again (well, some of them). I had two flop over about 5" from the top - I'm guessing the cold spell didn't sit so well with them. Unfortunately I just couldn't protect them all, but the straw insulation is helping a lot on the others. *sigh* Guess I might have to watch some of these guys start all over again, drats.

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

I was really counting on starting my seeds today .. about the only thing good about all of this is that the ones like Alstroemeria aurea which need stratification won't have to be stuck in the fridge .. i can just leave them outside.

I'm ready for global warming .. everyone go outside and start your cars.

LOL. I'm with you at this point, X.
