This morning as I was looking into my pond and dreaming of spring (and that wonderful pond clean out . . .) I noticed that two of my hardy waterlilys that I bought from the TWL co-op last year are already sprouting. They have about an inch of growth on them. This is very exciting for me to see as it reminds me that spring is truly right around the corner! Is anyone else's plants starting to sprout under the ice or in and around your de-icer?

I can see my waterlilys from TWL 2008 co-op!
That is exciting! Linda, how are your fish doing? I read on another post that you said they were all hanging around the deicer, are they still doing that?
No, I turned one of the pond de-icer off since the weather hasn't been too cold. Snapple and I d-mailed and she was of the opinion that maybe all the heat from the de-icer was making the top layer warmer than the bottom layer. I ordered a bottom of the pond temperature thingy and would get a better idea of the top layer versus the bottom layer and the difference in temperature.
Seeing the plants sprouting is totally exciting though.
