Here's a picture of our kitty, Meiko, who is celebrating her first anniversary with us from the Siamese Cat Rescue Center. She came all the way from Knoxville, TN under the guidance of her foster mom, who generally has about 6 kitties in her home awaiting final adoption. All animals are spayed or neutered and have been checked medically. Meiko is a sweet companion, and we are so happy we found her. There are hundreds if not thousands of cats, from kittens to seniors, that are in need of a loving home. There's a vetting process for adopting one of these sweethearts and it's not free, but I am convinced that every dime (and more) goes toward rescuing and resettling these beautiful animals in a good home. I believe you will be impressed by Siamese Rescue. If you have room in your heart and home for a kitty, please consider these deserving candidates.

Happy Anniversary Meiko
She's a beautiful cat, Pam. She makes a great poster girl for Siamese rescue.
More pretty kitties! Siamese cats have so much personality.
Hart, Siamese do have have interesting personalities. In fact, I think the gentleman who gave Meiko up said she talked too much. While it is true, she lets us know when she wants to eat, I wouldn't say she talks too much.
Wild-Rose, Don't you think Remy, Skye and Meiko may be related? They are adorable. Meiko was on my lap when I opened the picture of Remy and enlarged it. I don't know if cats can recognize a picture of another cat, but she sure did give it a good look. Is that a VT blanket Skye is resting on? We've never had two indoor kitties at the same time, but I'd love to have two if we could have another as sweet as Meiko. Hmmm.....
I know about the talking. I think some people just can't take the constant yakking from a Siamese. LOL Thank goodness she ended up in a wonderful home where someone appreciates her conversational skills.
heh-heh-heh
Hat's off to you, Pam!! Anyone that rescues or adopts a rescue has a special place in heaven one day...
All beautiful kitties! I love the siamese personality too. My totally unscientific opinion is, it's linked to the points color, genetically, having points. My two are tabby with points, and talk just enough. My sister and BIL had a Tonkinese that was super, but disappeared. They still aren't sure if he pushed out a ground floor screen, or was taken from it.
Yes, they have wonderful personalities! My Tucker, who is now an angel kitty, was a loud and boisterous talker, and followed me every where, talking the whole time! When I lost him suddenly, I knew I could never have another kitty (or more!) that wasn't Siamese or Siamese mix. Actually, Skye litter brother looks like a silver tabby... and I adopted him as well. In order to get Skye I had to take her brother... they would not split them up, because he was so shy, and they did not think they could place him alone. The two of them were actually born in the wild, and were trapped out of a feral cat colony. They were approximately 8 wks old when they had there first human contact... but you would not know it now! They are both very loving and affectionate... Virgil follows us around like a dog! Remy came from a different shelter and different area, but her brothers and sisters were either solid grey or black or tortoiseshell. Bothe Skye and Remy are very "quiet" girls, rarely using their voices at all. Each is different!
This is Virgil...
Sally... your two are so pretty too! My brother had a lynx-point, that looked like that. Now he has two Balinese... one seal and one blue.
I didn't have a dog or cat as a child, so one of the first things DH and I did when we got married was get a cat, and it just happened that she was Siamese. We had Ching, a seal point, for 12 years before she died from Cat Lukemia. She was the best of the best. Later we had a boy we named Suzi, because we were told he was a female when we got him. The vet clued is in. We had him for 18 years and never changed his name. He didn't care. Thank you for sharing your pictures and stories of your pets.
A boy named Suzi? LOL
Ugh, could I have posted a worse picture? Hope this is better- can't preview with the tiny thumbnails.
VA WildRose- and Pam- yes I'm sure you loved them like crazy, so did my BIL, his that got lost. I'll be very sad when it happens to these guys, they are a big part of our family history.
I go into the local 'pound' once in a while just to look- I can't imagine not having a kitty or two in the house. I sprung one on my fiance hee hee, he married me anyway. The only kitten that day, all white.
Hart, We tried to call Suzi something more masculine, like Butch, but we kept forgetting, and he always answered to Suzi.
Sally, Your kitties look like best friends. Two heater cats. You know what a heater cat is, right, from A Prarie Home Companion, Bertha's Kitty Boutique?
I was joking. Don't you remember the song "A Boy Named Sue?"
Ahhh - even I, the foreigner, loved Johnny Cash and his "Boy named Sue" ^_^
LOL Pam--I haven't heard much P H C- I don't know what heater cats are. But my youngest insists that Chester sleep with him every night, so when I go into the room to read with DS, Chester lays on my lap. He heats me up good- is that what heater cats do?
*showing my age* - Mom had the 45
Chantell, I'm trying to remember the words and tune, but am coming up with, "Me and you and a boy named Sue", but I think that's "Me and you and a dog named Boo".
Sally, I've been listening to A Prarie Home Companion since 1981. It's a live radio program on public radio on Saturday evenings. It has kind of a cult following--apparently an older cult heh-heh. Bertha is a fictional sponsor of the program, who runs a boutique to meet all your cat needs, including the rental of heater cats for those frigid nights we've been experiencing. "Bertha's, for people who care about cats".
You had to ask, when I have not too much energy to be productive

Wait trhu just a bit of intro chatter
I do catch a bit of P H C during Saturday errands. Heater cat Love it!
Good job Sally. I forgot how funny that was. My name is Sue, How do you do!
