Aquarium Help - PH & H2O Hardness

Guilford, CT(Zone 7a)

I have a healthy, established 45 gallon aquarium. My PH runs 6.0 to 6.2, with very hard water & high iron content. I do 1/4 water changes every 2-3 weeks. I plan on adding a CO2 injection system soon, & I understand that it will slightly lower the PH. I fear that this additional drop may put my tank in the PH danger zone. Most of the methods to raise PH also increased water hardness, like crushed coral or baking soda. Are there other solutions to low PH that won't affect the water hardness? Is this even something I should be concerned about?
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks~
Julie
