Slideshow: Winter Garden in Northern CA

Oakland, CA(Zone 9b)

I've been playing with my new digital camera (an Xmas present to myself; just helping the economy move along, LOL) and posted some photos in the Rose forum. Then I added a few more, and then even more....finally put them all into a slideshow on Photobucket.

Hopefully this link will go straight to the slideshow:

Hey! The slide show is really cool - love your pictures. Was it difficult to do?

ps - don't you love the fragrance of Margaret Merril rose?

Seandor,
No, the slideshows are pretty easy to do in Photobucket. You do have to remember to title the photos first, before you select them for the slideshow.

Yes, I love the fragrance of the Margaret Merril rose! It's been a real winner for us, hardly ever out of bloom all year round.

Thank you for sharing...sitting here in a blizzard this morning so looking at all your pretty flowers has brought home that spring is just around the corner...in my case perhaps around the block...not close at all so I'll just keep popping in from thread to thread enjoying the thought of what yet is to come...

Man! To have roses almost all year 'round. My roses are slumbering under the snow. . .

What lovely pictures to look at in the winter..
Thank you for sharing

Beautiful garden. My roses just got cut back so no blooms for a few weeks.

So very very pretty, you lucky guys in the Bay Area just have color almost all year long. My sister is in Berkeley and I do love visiting her and seeing things likte the tibouchina you can do but of course up here in the north it is just too darn cold. I love all the cestrums too and the distictis and solanums. The white solanum vine is so pretty, I do have the lavendar one and so a white would be a fun addition here too. Love your photographs. I could smell the Double Delight roses. They've a wonderful perfume and are a beautiful shaped flower. Thanks for the tour around your lovely garden. Colleen
