Passion Flower, Passiflora s?

San Andres, Peten, Guatemala

This one has been a bit of a puzzle. We thought it was guatemalensis(hahnii), it is the only one growing in my garden. However the leaves don't match the flower. We thought of coriacea but this doesn't seem right also.

The fruit which are about the size of marbles are starting to show the correct purple colour.

How big is that one? I have ones like that, only they are the size of a small pearl...almost need a magnifying glass!

The flowers are small about one inch in diameter. They close completely in the afternoon,
In the morning they show 10 white sepals and then later only 5 sepals are erect as in the first picture.
This is an early morning photo.

We have now discovered the Bat Leaf Passion Flower, Passiflora coriacea growing in a remote part of the garden. Now we know that the original Passion Flower is not this species.
