Fragrant Orchids...talk to me

Yes....I've started on a new....ummm, obsession...LOL Any of you grow orchids? Please chime in....ones you like...don't like...difficulty or ease...and nurseries/vendors of course. And yes, I'm referring to specifically the fragrant ones (of course).

Hey Chantell!

I'm around orchids every weekend at work, as you know. I have one with a complicated name I'm doing from memory BLC Momilani Rainbow "The Gypsy" flowering now on the Jacaranda tree in the backyard. The surprise is, the fragrance is of roses!
Don't have photo in comp. hd so will have to get out and take a photo of it.
I could post several dozen photos but we'd likely get run out to the orchid folder.
Here's one that smells of cherry cough syrup. It's a Cycnoches

My husband's birthday is this weekend and I really want to go to this show http://www.orchidguild.org/orchidquest.html but not really his thing. Hoping he won't mind if I sneak out for just a little bit.

Got it! This smells strongly of roses I mentioned above.

Here's one of my favorite fragrant orchids. It's like lily of the valley with lemon.
The name is Catesetem x Grace Dunn. It's dormant from Oct through flowering Jan-Feb. (no water and loses its leaves).

Kevin - what gorgeous orchids you have. Now see...I didn't know you worked around them - oh to have that kind of a job...I'd be in heaven. Do you mind sharing some good vendors/sites to purchase some of these pretties from? Or you can simply dmail me. I'd rather go by referrals then "cold turkey" with the orchids.
That Catesetem x Grace Dunn - do you mean literally NO water?? I'm learning about these beauties a little day by day....

Hey Chantell, look what's blooming. I had purchased this one on ebay as 'Sharry Baby' only to discover a different tag in the pot. This one is 'Mtdm. Ruffles-Scent of a Woman' it too smells like chocolate but not as much as 'Sharry Baby'.
