Lick Granuloma

Payne, our Rhodesian Ridgeback, has lick granuloma on a rear leg. We have been dealing with it for AWHILE with no success. The vet said to spray it with liquid bandage..no help. When I took Payne for his shots this month the vet said try cayanne pepper and a bandage before going for the "big guns". So far no luck and Payne takes exception to the treatment....can't say as I blame him. Did some research today and was wondering if honey might be the answer? Has anyone had success with honey for lick granuloma? or any other ideas?
