oh and i suppose there is a possibility it is orange bop . i got it at lowes . im not sure how to tell the diff . its about 5 ft

It'd be a rare orange b of p that grows to 5 ft but I have seen them at 4 ft. Well.....it is possible but most likely in the ground. Perhaps I'd say rare in a pot unless it's bigger than 2 ft in dia.
Can you take a photo? The white have larger leaves, 1 ft wide x 2-3 ft long. Orange B of P have pointed tips to the leaves.
And, yes they can flower when they a few feet high.

iris28,
I had one of these and really wanted it to bloom, too. I started a thread awhile back and here's what I got for feedback :

after taking care of it for an extra year (no blooms of course) I gave it away. Over time I've noticed that pictures showing the white BOP in bloom are from folks in zone 9 (even then it always seems to be in a microclimate) and up. I'm sorry to be the messenger here, but I just think it's one of those plants that isn't likely to do well for anything other than foliage in our colder zones. Good thing the leaves are so big and lush :)
