Oh looky! My Tiger Kitten has bloomed. I've had it several years but I usually chop it up for propagation so this is the irst time I've let one get big enough to bloom.
Sorry about the glare. The blooms are white and I guess I got the camera a wee bit to close.
Kitty Blooms
Beautiful begonia!
one of the few rhizome-type I haven't killed...LOL
I have a couple of begonias that I'm trying to keep alive, but not sure what types they are. I tend to collect plants that I don't see on a regular basis.
Ok...if they're houseplants...how do you not see them in the "house" on a regular basis?....LOL
Very funny!!! I'm sure anyone else would have known that I meant on the store shelves on a regular basis. I like things that are different or rare. By the way, one is on the lanai and the other is in a pot sitting outside on the West side of the house. They're not inside!
Ah...I just now noticed your in Fl. Now I understand how you can "not notice" plants. I move all my houseplants out in spring and pretty much all I do it hose them down weekly/biweekly then come fall I either find some dead or some with wild growth. My episcias are good to get polinated outside during the summer so I have seeds to play with indoors during the winter.
I need about an hour to get up the gumption to go out in our 42 degrees. I'll take photos and post to see if you recognize my begonias.
42's not bad. It was colder than that here yesterday and I went out to pick mustard for our supper.
I only have one that will survive year round outside...begonia grandis. It goes dormant in the winter. I think the azalea it was planted in front of finally got so big it somthered it out.
It was 16 below on Thursday morning. No begonias survive outside here.
16 BELOW!!!! Brrrrrrr!!!!!
