Prices of some fertilizers have tripled and there are worldwide shortages. In the US there are plans to build scores of new fertilizer plants.

It's shocking but farmers in Iowa have figured out that pig manure is a good thing. They're paying premium prices for it and cutting deals with other farmers to build pig parlors at the edges of their fields.
