I just LOVE everyones gnome and faery homes and gardens! I have looked a little bit on ebay and did see alot of doors I like, but where are you finding the little cottages and homes?
This year dh & I finally decided to do something creative with our back yard. I have a big shady empty space in my back yard I am just now starting to work on. I was going to do a walkway with hostas on each side and I'd love to incorporate some of these mystical places! On the other side it is quite sunny and I plan on doing a rose garden section. I think these would be perfect against some of my trees!
Here is a horrendous pic but it gives you an idea of what I will be working with. Here is one side.
I WANT ONE!!!
Wow, you have so many possibilities there to work with. When you remove the stump there are ways to decorate it (even with fairy doors). Someone on here posted pics of just such a stump planted on it or around it (can't remember). It is nice to have different levels to work in, it adds depth to your overall look. Couldn't you get one of those "fake" rocks to cover your phone?
You know, I don't know. There is a sticker on the box with a phone number on it, I think I will call it tomorrow and see if there are cables that I need to be aware of before digging. Otherwise, I may try to plant something that may can cover it up. Ivy or a clematis would probably be fine. If not, an artificial rock isn't a bad idea. I just know that no matter what I do, I am going to hate this box! lol
A lot of people use birdhouses for the fairy houses and I know Michaels has all theirs on sale for $3.99 this week-I got a cute one (for my 2nd house in addition to my hobbit house and gardeners cottage) that has 2 levels with a little porch with a 2nd level balcony-tooooo cute-was $7.99-wasn't with their Bhouses, but with their spring stuff....
oooo, yes those are neat. I'd love to live in one! lol
That gardener's cottage is just too cute. I've picked up a few tealight holders and such that I must look for. They could be used as well. Those REAL "hobbit" houses are nice too.
Stacey, you have a friend who actually made that hobbit house? Wow? (Oh, by the way, I hope those aren't your cig's - fairies don't smoke! LOL!)
Yup-she made the hobbit house:) Isn't it cute as all get out??
