Thank you Harmonyplace. Why do you wait until spring to breed? Why not breed in the winter too?

(Zone 7b)

I really just don't want to do the heat lights or bringing them inside.

I bred them for the easter sales last year and brought them inside after they fed in the morning and took them out for the evening feeding they stayed in all night and day except for the feedings.
My friends had alot of theirs die from the cold we had then so i'm not doing it this year.

I make just as much if not more haveing spring babys so why hassle with the weather.

Oh ok.See we stop breeding when it gets real hot and the mama's get a break for awhile.See we start breeding around Sept.

(Zone 7b)

I breed them so they will have them when it's just getting warm. I may breed them again before it gets hot i sell more pigeons, doves and chickens then i do rabbits.
I also will breed in the fall if it's not to hot for the fall sales i have breed for christmas rabbits before also.

My rabbits are sort of a novelty more than a money maker i breed them mostly because i love seeing the little babys.

I see by all yours you breed alot due you sell them for meat or pets?

Coushatta, LA

We sell ours as pets. The only meat rabbits we have are the New Zealand and she has never been breed before. She will be breed next month.
