Just found this one in the greenhouse

Haven't seen this one before, any idea of what it is? I have been laid up for 12 days with my back. I want you to know that I just had 4 shots in my back yesterday for a pulled muscle and one two weeks before that for a dislocated rib. While taking the pics of this one I fell backwards as I was backing up to take the pic. I must really love the BF's. My doctor is going to kill me! LOL

Well, I would say Checkered skipper. I've heard there is some debate on whether the Checkered Skipper and Tropical Checkered Skipper are the same species or not. Yours looks to me like a darker version of the Tropical Checkered Skippers I've seen in my yard. I notice in BugFiles there is only the Tropical Checkered Skipper listed: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/222/

I just googled it and it looks like its a Checkered Skipper. Thanks

Sorry to hear about your accident. I do worry about things like that at my age. I try to be real careful!

You're welcome! No falling for the butterflies, though!

Back problems are no fun...be careful and take care. Hope the shots work. Nice little skipper, I don't think I have gotten that one before.
