says the headline in this morning's paper. I haven't seen lobster on sale around here in forever. And for the recipe you only need a 3-1/2# lobster (3 cups of cooked lobster) to feed 4-6 people according to the recipe.
The recipe is long and unnecessarily complicated but includes macaroni, garlic, shallots, 2c. cheddar, 1-1/2 c. Parm., 1 c. gruyere, low fat cream cheese, low fat milk (or substitute heavy cream), 1 T.butter, pepper and 1/4 c Panko crumbs. The lobster out of the shell comes to 1#. Not only is the lobster expensive but the other ingredients aren't cheap either for the most part. Looking at the particulars on this dish it says it makes 4-6 generous servings. Based on 6 servings and using low fat milk it only has (per serving) 665 calories, 5 gr. protein, 41 gr. carbs., 33 gr. fat (19 gr. saturated) and 1,094 mg. sodium. I figure that this dish would only cost about $1.00 per calorie plus whatever the doctor charges to take care of you and your heart attack.
To save all of you, just send me your live lobsters and I'll try out the recipe and let you know how it went. If I live......
