I know alot of us are still looking at iced trees, but for alot of Texas, we're in the countdown for some spring cleaning plans.
I thought I'd share this blog I wrote in the Houston Chronicle about watching for Dragonfly Nymphs tucked away in the leaf debris. The blog will change on Tue morning to another subject.
Enjoy!
"What Nymph lurks beneath?!"

Save a Nymph!
After reading your blog on The Chronicle, I sent this to Becky. When I refill my pond I may need to restock with nymph as well. BTW, we have moved the tank/pond.
Yes, that is fascinating about the nymph. Absolutely love dragonflies!! I just raked leaves from a small portion of the pond the other day (didn't last long with the dogs underfoot), and although I was thinking about what I might be disturbing, nymphs did not cross my mind. I will certainly look out for them now!!
Enjoyed your article very much.
Thanks Allwild...like that name.
Where did you move it to Christi? I think I told you I set mine up in the green house. I figured it would help keep it warm, and provide the humidity needed. It does a perfect job..couldn't be happier.!

That's right...You an Becky got lessons first hand...that was so cute, she got her cup out right away and started looking for them!
Wow, thanks for posting that, Randy. I was about to go out and clean out all the debris on the bottom. Had no idea! I do love my dragonflies, so I'm really glad to know. Thanks for sharing it.
Thanks! It would be fun to know if you find any !
I will have to let you know later. I can't submerge my hand for about 6 weeks, so I guess any nymphs will get to live in peace for awhile. I do hope they're in there, though!
