Put my eggs in this morning and i have 49 in there if my roos have been doing their job i should get about 35.
I say 35+ because thats what i got out of my last hatch back in may 41 out of 50. I always have 2 or 3 infertiles could be more i haven't been paying close attention to any romance. I also will have a few stop developeing early on i never expect a 100%.
Well i will report next thursday or friday on if my roo's have been good boys or not.
Keeping a written record of temps and humidity i can't help it i'm a nerd i love to do reports and experiments on stuff.
I took the pic this morning when i set them
The Incubater is Set
They look beautiful!! Any time you want to teach me how to take pics like yours....I'll set up the bators and birds...
Well Thanks for the compliment Grow! (taint me with the talent it's the camera sssshhh)
WOW! What a sight. I get giddy about 2 eggs! hehehe
They sure do look purdy! I cant wait to hear the update.
Sending happy fertile thoughts. (to eggs) ;)
I can hardly wait, myself...
Har -Your camera has more talent than my camera!!
Yes the new cameras come with the photographer now.
well now that just about explains it...
So thats why the box was so big when i got it for christmas.
Yes, its rough on shipping costs though!!!
You have quite a set up there Harmony. I see you got all the thermometers working. I had one that was reading lower than all the others. Cant wait to see the babies.
Yes my Brower the one that came with it reads 99.5 while the acurite reads 100 to 101.
I'm just going with the Brower and useing the acurite for the humidity.
I have two humidity things and they both read different. Its frustrating!!!!
Mine is in the 46% range right now i never used the humidity thingy before. So i have no idea what it was when i incubated this past spring. My temp however was always 99.5 on the Brower thermometer and i did 3 hatches at that.
Yes it is frustrating and if some don't hatch you pull your hair out wondering if it was something to do with the temp and humidity
That's what those bald spots are coming from? Thank you! LOL
Beautiful pic Harmony! Best of luck to ya! I enjoy even just egg pics.. will be fun when they hatch! What's in there?
I put 12 in the hatcher today.. been too busy to do anything at home the last 3 days.. but keeping fingers crossed.
Well ZZ i have Porcelain, Barred Rocks, Crelle, Blue Mille Fleur, Mille Fleur,Blue Splash, and 1 Self Blue.
I been collecting since Dec. my bantys are sparadic with their laying with the less light it being winter.
So i have a experiment going i have a egg thats 22 days old it's been in plastic wrap for part of the time.
I checked the air cell and it looked real good so experiment old egg is in the works.
I hatched one last year that was 13 days old the reason a egg loses it's hatchability is evaporation.
So if you wrap them in plastic wrap they don't evaporate as fast.
That is interesting! I hope it hatches for you! Sounds like a darling load of beebeez in there. :)
That will be interesting to see if your older eggs develop. Ive always thought that eggs a week or 10 days should be fine, since often times hens will lay 10 or 12 eggs before actually starting to set. Keep us posted, this will be interesting.
snoopin'---inquiring minds wanna knoooow...
Grownut: You r craze girl, but you make me laugh.
Harm: Are you sure your not the mad Scientest undercover? Hmmm I wonder!!!
Are we sure she's undercover? {{shhh! Don' tella soooooul!!}}
I'm a Scientist at heart theres not much concerning my animals that i don't document or study.
I like to know things so if i ever need to know it in the future so i do experiments. I love to learn and from hands on experience's so when i tell someone something it's mostly from my own experience.
I can't stand to be told i can't cure this or help that in my book theres always a way it takes alot for me to give up.
I like to beat the odds and do things no one else will do like opening my hens crop a few years back. I had a choice i could put her down or let her die nither of these 2 appealed to me.
