My Little Girl is now a Lady!!

holy cow it has been cold here and one of my welsummer girls has become a winter lady and laid her first egg!!! doing happy danceing!!! i ended up with only 2 girls out of the batch i hatched now i just need to get more eggs to hatch them a roo,lol. i was hopeing i got a pair but ended up with 2 little girls. it is my first dark egg from my flock and i have not had any eggs laid in mths. talk about finding a golden egg in winter, rotfl. here is a pic of her first egg next to a pigeon egg so u can see how dark it is!!

Silkie both of those are beautiful: I swear the brown is so dark, it almost looks like a marans egg. I have never had welsummers so don't really know much about them. CONGRATS!!!!!!! i"m impressed. Haystack P.S. Would love to talk to you about trading eggs come springtime.

oh yes i'm a very proud momma!! really? i haven't seen a choc egg since i got the eggs in to hatch them and my marans i can't remember how dark they were now. none of my marans made it but i found another breeder and got on a list for spring so hopefully i'll have copper blacks again come spring, excited about that too. i'll have to see if i can get a pic of the girls so u can see them, they r pretty little ladies. the roos r hansome fellas. i found someone to spring trade for more eggs so i can add a bloodline to them and hopefully hatch these girls a nice roo.

u had to say the "S" word, rotfl uggg i got wintertime blues so bad and itching for "S" to come so i can play in the dirt!! it can't come fast enough and i can't wait!!
