The hair club for plants ...

Bucyrus, OH(Zone 6a)

Human hair joins the list of good fertilizers for non-edible plants ... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28509911/ I'll be dumping my clippings in my basjoo nanners this year to see what happens to them.

I wonder how hair would compost, and would feathers work as well?

My elder's use to throw their hair cutting's and coffee ground's in their plant's;-) The plant's alway's thrived! My guess would be......It work's-)

On a side note: I have read that the Basjoo's love Oak leave's added to their compost.

If I remember, I compost hair from when I clean my combs/brushes. I also compost dog/cat hair.
