Brookside Gardens' "Garden of Lights" pictures

West Pottsgrove, PA(Zone 6b)

Brookside Gardens had their annual light show again, and I got some pictures this weekend. The theme this year was the four "seasons of light".

another from the winter area - I don't think I got decent pics of all the seasons, but I'll post what looks OK and then some...

There's a cardinal "flying" through the trees, hard to see, but there's a series of them lit one after another and it does look like it's flying. There were squirrels chasing each other with the same effect

lots of these hyacinths - there's a place online that sells them

sea monster - in years past it blew smoke or fog or whatever it was - every few minutes it made a loud hissing noise and blew smoke - it was too cold to wait and see if it worked that way this year

Nice and warm in the conservatory - the shrub with white flowers in the middle is Edgeworthia chrysantha. There was a brugmansia in bloom too.

I've got to do this next year!!!!

Shenandoah Valley, VA

So beautiful, Claypa. Thanks for sharing your photos.

For those of you in Virginia, I know they do a big holiday light show at Bull Run Regional Park in Centreville. It's all focused on holiday themes, though. I like the Brookside one.

Anyway, just in case anyone wants to go to the other one next year:

thanks claypa- I've never been to one of the light things. The sea monster is super. I've been to Brookside one summer when they had butterflies, and loved the Japanese lake area too.

Beautiful, Love that orange variegated Brug. I was just looking at one of those in a catalogue.

Nice photos, Claypa. Thanks for sharing. Looks like a fun place to visit.

They do a great job there, especially for a county park. I think it started out as someone's private garden.

Some of the rest of the lights were a giant spider/web and a moving dragonfly, too blurry to bother posting.

WAY off topic, but I just saw this incredible video of these flying squirrel - type skydivers, I hope the link works! Enjoy!

We saw the flying squirrel guys on a show last week- Speed channel maybe? Flying squirrels is a very good name for them. They do use a 'chute at the end though, right? I would think.

I wrote that before checking the link. I assume its those guys in special suits that do extra-aerobic moves in them.

Great photos -- I've never been to the light show there but your photos certainly make me want to go next year!

Thanks for sharing them.
