Does anyone recognize this duck?? It lives at the Albuquerque Zoo year round out in the open pond with the more typical local ducks. I cant find it in any references. Much appreciate any help. Sarah
Funny Duck in Albuquerque
reminds me of a Harlequin Duck

but it's not the same.
I'm off to bed. If someone else doesn't see this tonight then Resin will get in the morning.

Yep, Red-breasted Goose. Very popular in captivity. Native to Siberia (breeding), SE Europe (wintering).

Very unique looking. I really like it!
Sure is pretty!
It sure is colorful and different.
He's gorgeous! He's the same colors as my favorite backyard bird, the Rufus-sided Towhee.
I wish he was hanging around our local pond. If he can live in FL, he can live in GA.
Thanks for posting this photo. I've never seen one before.
A real beaut! Thanks.
Thanks so much! No wonder none of my North American guides showed him. I would have never figured it out. Sarah
Oh and I should add that she/he is very tame and will eat from a hand. Should have tipped me off to being an escaped exotic.
