Heres my jylgaskin predator Owl

(Zone 7b)

I really liked jylgaskins idea with the plastic owls and drilling holes in the eye sockets and putting red blinking lights inside. It's the same principal as those pricey predator lights it's 2 red blinking lights. The predator see's it as something blinking it's eyes and is frightened away.
So i went to wally world and got the string of red lights for 60cents and the owl is ceramic been in my garden a year.
I paid $2 for it at a auction and i'm going to drill holes in his eyes and put the red blinking lights inside.
I'm going to glue him to a board and plug him in at night to see if it will scare not only predators but maybe rats as well.
Thanks So Much Jylgaskins it's a wonderful idea and i know it will work!!

Oh , he is cute...I mean threatening! hehehe
It is a wonderful idea! I hope it does scare away rats! I will get one then!
Ya, know...I have not seen the two rats since that ferret (neighbors) was found in their hole.
I think they are gone or dead by ferret. I am glad!
Owls are good preditors!!!

I bought a "stuffed owl" from the Halloween store and it has moldable feet so I perch him on top of the fence to the coop. I like the red eyes idea and might have to think of a way to do that! Great idea!!!!
