Rosamond

Fort Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10b)

Rosamond is one of those classic oldie but goody brugs. I don't hear about it often so I assume that not many people are growing this cultivar, but let me tell you that this one is definitely worth adding to your collection. This is a Rothkirch child that was introduced in 1992. The cross is Rothkirch x Ocre. The flowers on this one are beautiful. Nodding, dark pink blooms that have their color extending deep into the corolla. Pleasant fragrance, heat resistance and consistency of blooms make this one a winner for any garden.

When I had this Brug, it was my favorite - it is almost fake looking - very beautiful!

The flowers also last a long time on this one!

I love Brugs with a heavy aurea influence. I had a large potted Rosamond. Winter before last, it started to die back while in the greenhouse. By spring, it was completely dead. I hope I have better luck with the small cutting I have now. I've raised the thermostat to 50ºF hoping to keep my Brugs healthier this winter.
