This is a contemplative time for many--a time to assess where we have been...where we are headed...what we have learned, how we have grown(pun intended), what has changed in our lives..gains/losses. I thought it might be interesting to share some of your thoughts on 2008,and plans/hopes for 2009---personal, professional, horticultural. Just to keep things gessie related, post a favorite pic from 2008--(edited) - OR...If introspection is not your thing, just post your favorite pic!^_^

OTLooking back...moving forward
Ok, I'll start---I will be glad to put 2008 behind me. On a personal and professional level, probably in the top 5 of my worst ever years, for reasons I will not dwell on here. On the plus side, I am walking, talking, have a new job I love, become proficient on the puter, and finally got a camera! (a new hobby is born-LOL!) I have reconnected with some family members, and made new friends, and....I've rebuilt and reorganized my AV collection. My goal for the new year is to integrate the lessons learned from events of 2008, and move way, wa-a-a-ay forward. Oh yeah...and loose another 50 lbs! LOL(well I can dream!)
phoebesviolets, Beautiful Color!!
i will say it was a good year for me,a few things were bad, but for the most part, it was a good year. I also got a better job, have a little more money to spend on plants without feeling so guilty, lol. This new year i am hopeing will be even better, i am starting off with painting my apartment & getting a new look. The majority of my plants are looking great & i am so far feeling pretty good for my age. lol So i am hopeing this year will be better than last, even thou, it was a good year for alot of differnt things.

My favorite pictures are never of my plants..........only my kids and grands! All I want from 2009 is good health so I can keep having fun with my family and maybe even make a difference in someone else's life.
I had family this Christmas for a week with some going and some coming..........
Just a few pics to show you just a bit of fun we had. My son took the 3 older ones down to the pasture to find skulls and bones of animals.
what great pictures, sounds like you had a wonderful xmas, good for you.

It doesn't matter, Bonnie, that I stayed in my same pajamas I waked up in the morning they left! Thanks.......we did have fun and now Nana is catching up on sleep.
Awesome pictures Gail-- looks like you had a blast!!
Last year was a stressful one for us-- I became disabled due to health reasons (too educated for disability accd to uncle sam...) Dh lost his Dad, we sold & moved away from the family farm (alienating family members) to start over pursuing a dream in the wilderness and had a number of financial set backs. BUT things were getting better by the end of the year, living here has really improved my mental outlook, I met this wonderful bunch of folks here on DG that lifts my spirits on a daily basis, our financial situation is turning around, DS is coming home from Iraq anyday now and things are looking up ! I ended last year and started this one knowing that I am truly and greatly blessed!
See.......Gran......you waited too long to leave the family farm. (LOL) I did that when I was 17 and just came home a few years ago.
DG lifts my spirits , too, on a daily basis but I don't see financial situation getting any better in 09. That is not the most important thing so I am feeling blessed just to get around physically and grow plants, play with kids,etc..........
You really did move to the wilderness...........wishing you, Phoebe, Bonnie and everyone a blessed New Year.
& the same to all of you.
