I am walking Penny( Buff Orp) w a chicken saddle on her back. lol..she is very relaxed and not fighting me with it..I had to make few saddles for a lady who shows her chickens and wanted to excerise them without having them running or flying away..

How ADORABLE! You do know... that you need to get a leash with chicken prints on it, rather than dog prints, right.... ;-)

(Nadine) Devers, TX(Zone 9b)

havent found any w chicken prints down here where I am at...:(..cuz I got the clasp part ready..

You do have chicken ones!!! They are cute.
I do all embroidering by hand! I wouldnt mind the barter system! hehehe
I like to make them look like a chicken walked across the material with muddy feet.
I use to do it with ferret feet on their little blankets. They are so cute.

SOOOO CUTE!

Oh, Good Lord.

Moodene those chicken saddles are wonderful!

They could also be a great defence for urban chickens in a municipalities that don't allow "farm animals". If a family walks their chickens on a leash like they walk the dog, cat or goat, then there would be a stronger defense for the "chicken as family pet" concept.

I smell loophole! ahhhh yes.

Clarkson, KY

Definite loophole!! Saddle, leash, pooper-scooper, baggie.

Ya'll are cahoots in my book..!! I do sell them to others but in private..lol..and on another chicken forum...Yep, I do have chicken ones and got few more for spring line...lol...Dmail me..if ya want more information..

This seems like the perfect solution for keeping apartment/ hi-rise chickens.
"Honey, I need to walk the hens."

Do roos crow indoors? (I've only ever had them outdoors w/ coop) If they are willing to wait until their morning walks to do the crowing, then they could let loose during "business hours" and potentially not be a problem in residential neighborhoods. Could open up new housing options for them.....not to mention the dating potential.

LOL...

Clarkson, KY

They're surely better than a lot of high-rise doggies...

We have neighbor who takes her Macaw out to sing and squawk in the afternoon. At full volume, that parrot is a lot louder than a rooster.

Anyone here ever kept a rooster in the house long enough to know if he'll crow inside? How close are we to a "chicken in every home"?

Clarkson, KY

Well ours come up to our bedroom windows on balmy mornings and crow to wake us up -they're plenty loud...

San Francisco Bay Ar, CA(Zone 9b)

Ever been near a large parrot at full volume? Is a rooster louder?

Ever kept your rooster in the house for a day or two?

Clarkson, KY

No. They just try to come in. Seems to be a territorial thing. If they feel the need to claim it...

Clarkson, KY

My best guess here is that IF he felt a need to 1) dominate any male 2) impress any female or 3) keep himself company...then he would crow as required...

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

I had a hand raised batch who ended up in the house longer than I wanted. (Until the coop was done) And yes, they crow inside. They do it to communicate with their girls and communicate they did. hehehe

A chicken in every home! funny!!!

Foley, MO

Yes, they do crow indoors. I don't know if any of you remember my fiasco with the gnats earlier this last year, but I had to bring my chickens inside for several days. OMG! My roos crowed every morning at 5:00am sharp or something close to that. Also, I loooove your ladybug saddle! Very cute.

moodene i love your chicken saddles and your Buffy does look jealous of Penny. ha ha ha
