Anyone have this plant from the US?
Googled it, lots in England.
Anyone have it ?Let me know how it behaves in Z6
The only nursery I could find is Plant Delights SOLD OUT
Any suggestions ?like wait until spring?
I'm looking for Clematise alpin Stolwyjks gold.
Bluebird Nursery has it listed as one of their new offerings in 2009, but I think they are a wholesale nursery.
It is a beauty...would really like to have it.
I think they wholesale too. My memory is krapp but when I googled the plant I'm sure its a site I looked at.
Other nurseries are in England.
Plant Delights is US and they sold out on their 2008 catalogue.
I'll just wait to see what 2009 turns up.
Maybe it's shown as sold out now but let's hope it's available when their 2009 catalog is online.
I do think I saw a note about available Feb 2009.
I'm so there the minute it appears.
Plants Delight usually carries this clematis but they are out of it right now...Jeanne

Thanks Jeanne
PD is the only place on this side of the Atlantic that has it.
I'm chomping at the bit waiting to see websites online with their new catalogues.
Now that the Holidays are over let spring begin.
I have requested a few from my fav nurseries but only get catalogues from places I dont care about.
Living in NY you should have your choice of local Clematis vendors...down South we have to order online as nurseries here don't carry them 'cause most people "think" it's too warm here to grow them...goodluck...Jeanne

You may want to call Plant Delights again to check the availability of this plant. I received my Spring catalog from them and this plant is in their catalog.

Thanks for thinking of me.
I did look at their online catalogue for this year, alllllas I need two and with shipping they came so close to $60.00. for both I nearly passed out.
I'm going to have to reluctantly pass.

I bought one from PDN about two years ago or so.. it's still in the slower growing years but it is doing good! Wish ya'll luck in finding it... I feel lucky I stumbled upon it at PDN when I was there for an open house :-)
I bit the bullit and ordered two from PDN.
Sometimes you just gotta go big or stay on the porch.
Good job, Jo Ann. I like the way you phrased that.

Gosh that is a gorgeous clematis. I love the colouring of the leaves and the contrast of the pretty flowers!
Got 2 comming from Plant Delights.
Going behind Agastache Blue Fortune.
Yay!! Perfect!!
I hate being held up like that.
That is only one plae to buy anything.
I saved so much on the other clems on the co-op that It will all work out.
i ordered it form Plants Delight for may delivery.
Hefty bill but I'm OK with it now.
Mine are coming in May too.
Cant wait
I hope all of you have better luck than I did. I ordered this clematis for PD last spring. It was small size with limited root developement. I babied and planted and watered it and in payment in promptly died in August. Sometimes clematis will fool you and come back the next year. I am keeping my fingers crossed on this one. It would be interesting to have everyone who buys it this spring report on their experience at the end of next growing season.
I've had many return from the dead or near dead so I wish you the same good fortune. When I depend on that to happen it never does.
I will definatly report on my "gold"
I have never paid so much for a plant.
If its a bummer I will definatly report to Garden Watchdog.
Victor had issues with them too.
Does it come with a guarantee and if so how long is the guarantee good for? Mark your calendar to be sure you report it on time.
