I ordered the "Vortex Fury 8x42" Binocular yesterday. I should be getting it before the end of the year.
Which ones do you use and are they any good? What is your binocular best feature?
Thanks for the input! :)
Which binoculars do you use when you go birding?
We won a pair from Animal Planet one year (Bausch &Lomb) 8x24.
Their small and light weight which is good and they seem to do a fine job.
My kids got me a pair of Bushnell 10x? and I love them. They are not very lightweight but I plan on getting a more comfortable neck strap because the one that came with them is not comfortable, but since I always wear my camera around my neck I usually just carry the binos. They are easy to focus and have comfortable eye pieces
Bausch and Lomb custom compact 7x26 with 7° field width, bought sixteen years ago. I still love them. My favorite thing about them is the small size, and they will fit in most pockets if need be. When focusing, the objective lenses move, not the eyepieces.
They're the old style mentioned in the bottom of this article:

They will focus much closer than most 'nocs, and when people ask to look through them, invariably they will look through the wrong end!
I got the Tasco Zip 7X35 as a gift form work. I can't see anything near as well with these as in your pictures. I guess I need to buy a decent pair. What do y'all recommend?
JuneBug, I will let you know what I think about mine when I get them tomorrow.
I have had several different birdwatching binocs over the years and finally "bit the bullet" last spring and bought a pair of Nikon 'Monarch' roof prism type. Great optics and light gathering capabilities. I did not want to pay so much but after looking through all different types and brands in the store--including a $1200 pair of Swarovski--I was convinced one could not do better than the Nikon. They are great!

FYI: my Bushnells are 10x42's. My kids gave them to me for Christmas this year
